Waterdam chooses for LEDVolution

Public Swimming pool the Waterdam in Volendam has renewed the public entrance and reception area light scene using (extra) warm-white LEDVolution LS fixtures.
I took an on-site product comparison to convince the decision makers of the unique specifications and quality of the LEDVolution light fixtures.
Although the Waterdam was clear from the start that they liked the LEDVolution light fixtures they wanted to do a direct and on-site comparison with a “cheap” solution. The goal of the comparison was to determine what fixture suited the Waterdam best based on cost, light and electrical characteristics and giving the Waterdam employees a change to determine what light color they preferred best in their working environment.

Directly at the start from the comparison it became clear that the LEDVolution 45Watt version has a much higher light(lumen) output then it’s competitors. Were the competitors claimed to have a power consumption of 47 Watt (actually 53 Watt), the 45Watt LEDVolution light fixtures were replaced by the 30Watt version to provide a better direct comparison in light output. Together with other technical specification like a PowerFactor of 0.96 of the LEDVolution fixtures compared to PF 0.63 of the competitors, the technical experts at the Waterdam were quickly convinced. After a financial check it was also clear that, although a higher purchase price, the LEDVolution will provide higher cost savings.
The last item to compare was the lightcolor (CCT). Were the LEDVolution fixtures are available in ExtraWarm (2700K), Warm (3000K), Neutral(4000K) or Cold White(5500K), the competitors could only provide Warm and Neutral white color fixtures. Were all employees could give their input on their preferred color, the final vote was for the ExtraWarm White (2700K) version.
